We are delighted to announce that Maple Homes has found another local sport to get behind, and is proud to be a local sponsor of Hunslet Nelson Cricket Club…
Big believers of the cricket mentality of ‘teamwork makes the dream work’ Maple are passionate about supporting local community members and are pleased to be able to help raise funds for the club’s continued development, flying the flag for Hunslet.
The team at Hunslet work hard to provide an established cricket ground for teams of all ages to use. With the cricket club being the last one remaining in Inner South Leeds, the club therefore provides facilities for a large number of people. This is one of the reasons why we are passionate to help keep the club running for more generations to enjoy in the future.
Brian Farrell from Hunslet Nelson Cricket Club said: “Sponsorship enables us to concentrate some of our time and effort on coaching and organising cricket, as opposed to spending all of our time fundraising to maintain and grow our facilities. This can only be good for all our members”.
Brian added: “With regards to the work Maple is doing I’m right behind it. My personal feeling is that new homes are very welcome in the area. Their presence will make a very pleasant change from motorways, an incinerator and rail links, all appearing in Hunslet and surrounding area.”
Tom, Director at Maple Homes said: “We are more than happy to support Hunslet Nelson Cricket Club, and hope our encouragement will help the team at Hunslet continue their amazing work. Having something like this in our local neighbourhood is so much of what makes a strong community. We would love to see local teams maintain their fantastic position in the cricket league, and to continue to see new young players come through.”
Last year, Hunslet Nelson Cricket Club joined the Bradford Cricket League as part of a merger with the Central Yorkshire League. With the standard of cricket being very high, this year they want to consolidate their position in the league and make preparations to build from here on. The club is currently home to three adult teams, and a Sunday league team. They also have Under 9s, 11s, 13s, 15s, and 17s for the Junior teams.By Jo Swann in Community
